City-Tour Jena

Experience the quiet side of the pulsating young town Jena on our City-tour in the heart of the “Lichststadt”. Get to know Jena from another point of view on the tamed river Saale, which provides the ideal conditions for newbies and advanced paddlers.

After a short introduction to the handling of the boat and a safety instruction by one of our guides you can start your trip in the green heart of the city. In the middle of the large park, paddlers are able to get right into the city centre, where cafés, bars invite you for a visit. Besides that you can also get to one of the numerous museums, the theatre or the famous “Planetarium” within minutes.

Upriver, passing the stadium and the lake “Schleichersee”, river Saale leads you up to the old lock in Jena-Burgau and its historical bridge. Advanced paddlers can furthermore discover the city-beach in Jena-Göschwitz or the waterside park in Jena-Lobeda after passing around the old lock.

Because of its slow velocity of flow on river Saale, the City-tour is also adequate for Stand Up Paddling. In kayaks, canoes or rafts, the neutral conditions help even unpracticed guys and children to gain the needed confidence in using a paddle.
